**Upgrades**

**UV 1-3** the upgrades work like regular starcraft games and are separated by races, ground and air. Max weapon/armor upgrades is 15.

**UV 4** the upgrades are combined into 3 types of weapon: Strength (STR), Tactical (TAC), and Aptitude (APT). The three upgrades are shared between races so check each unit's weapon slot to make sure you're doing the right upgrade. Note that even spells like storm and yamato will receive upgrade bonuses as well. All units share the same armor (Tenacity) upgrades and plasma shield (called Speed, but doesn't increase movement speed) upgrades. From 0.29 onward max weapon/armor upgrades became 25. **//Armor is scaled to difficulty 1.5x, for example in Hard (+2) difficulty you will get 3 armor per point of armor ugprade.//**

**Tesla Regeneration**

Every 7 minutes Tesla regeneration will trigger and fully heal your hero's hit point, shield point and energy. You may shorten the cooldown of Tesla regeneration with Tesla upgrades (max 5, reduce cooldown by 1 minute per upgrade). Brawler in UV4 and Psycho gets Tesla every 3 minutes while each upgrade reduces cooldown by 30 seconds. Starting in UV4 the cooldown time until next Tesla trigger will be displayed on HUD.

In current UV4 each Tesla upgrade removes 60s from remaining Tesla timer with each upgrade, improving the ability overall by giving more immediate results; consider using tesla upgs with <60s remaining on timer as instant full heals with added long term benefit

**Gateway Upgrades**

In your [[gateway|gateway]] you can use gas skills, heal your hero, buy extra lives and learn more info about your hero. You may also get upgrades specific to your hero such as increasing mana(gas) pool and mana regeneration speed. UV4 moved hero-related upgrades to evolution chamber and toggle button to comsat station.

**Evolution Chamber (UV4)**

In UV4 all upgrades are shared across all units of different races and combined into evolution chamber, including hero upgrades and the new immunity upgrades.

After you research immunity upgrade, whenever an enemy casts the spell on your hero it will automatically get a restoration. Unfortunately it only works on your hero and not the summons/purchased units. //Currently do not work on heroes that have yet to be revamped and has transformation eg. Cyborg//
