| [[maps:uv1|Impossible Ultraviolet]] established the foundation of the series: unforgiving difficulty, persistent upgrades, and RPG-style hero development. Players select one of 15 unique heroes, build customized unit squads, and fight through randomized missions that ensure no two runs feel quite the same. Core concept is simple: destroy all Mature Crysalis that spawns enemy units periodically to reduce enemy advances and to go on to next stage. | [[maps:uv1|Impossible Ultraviolet]] established the foundation of the series: unforgiving difficulty, persistent upgrades, and RPG-style hero development. | UV 2 and UV 3 expand upon the core UV1 formula with new terrain, enemy compositions, and balance tweaks. They retain the same core mechanics but refine pacing, mission layouts, and player roles. Starting in UV2 some stages have invincible Mature Crysalis (or other buildings) that requires you to destroy a certain building (ex. Overmind) first to disable invincibility, adding to the difficulty. Ideal for veterans of UV1 looking to test their skills further on fresh maps. UV3 sees the introduction of buying minerals and random selection in shop, also it is the only current UV that does not contain boss level. | UV 2 and UV 3 expand upon the core UV1 formula with new terrain, enemy compositions, and balance tweaks.
